CHRISTOPHER D. HAGENOW
Chris Hagenow is a founding partner of Hagenow Gustoff & Karas LLP, and has transitioned to Of Counsel status. Chris continues to assist the firm and its clients, specifically in the areas of campaigns and election law and business matters.

In addition to his role with the frim, Chris is President of Iowans for Tax Relief where he develops public policy solutions to advance

Iowans for Tax Relief's goals of lower taxes, less government spending and fewer regulations.
​
Chris served six terms in the Iowa House, representing parts of both Dallas and Polk Counties. During his time at the Capitol, he served four years as the House Majority Leader, as well as serving as House Majority Whip and Chairman of the House Government oversight Committee.

Chris is a sixth-generation Iowan, raised in Cedar Falls. Chris graduated from Northern University High School and went on to receive his BA Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Iowa in 1994. He earned his JD from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1997 and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association. Chris has practiced law in both Waterloo and Des Moines, with experience in criminal defense, real estate, trusts and estates and civil litigation.
Chris lives in Urbandale with his wife Amanda and their children Owen, Noah and Sophia.
